When I started my rugby journey, I was always told I was too small to succeed.

By the time I finished, I was 10 kilos heavier and starting at flyhalf for my university team.

Along the way I tore my ACL twice and suffered multiple injuries.

In an effort to supplement my training, I took up Crossfit, Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, and Bodybuilding, without ever really knowing what would work, or why.

I know what it feels like to walk into a gym and not be sure if what you’re doing will actually help you on the pitch. I also know the frustration of injuries, missed opportunities, and wasted sessions.

That’s why I wanted to change.

That’s why I coach differently.

Fast forward a few years and now I’m a Qualified Strength & Conditioning Coach, current Head of Strength & Conditioning for Broughton RFC in Edinburgh, and have spent over 20 years playing the game (Union and League).

I have qualifications in Strength and Conditioning from the IUSCA, British Weightlifting, and Origym COE, as well as a qualification in Psychological Tools for Sports Coaches.

Every programme I build combines real-world experience with proven training science and innovation — no fads and no fluff, just what works.

My mission is to take the guesswork out of your training and support you as best I can, help you avoid the mistakes I made, and get you game-ready for life in the smartest way possible.
